Hope Woodard

Band Director
Hope Woodard is the Band Director at Regents School of Austin. She grew up in Flower Mound, TX and was inspired by her private school band director to pursue a degree in Music Education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she was involved in and toured with the Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Spirit Band. She graduated in May of 2021 and three weeks later married her husband, Corey, with whom she gets to serve the youth at their church in Salado. In her free time, she works as a wedding photographer and plays trumpet at local churches or events. Her favorite thing to do, however, is spend time at home with Corey and her two kittens.

A piece of music that has truly inspired Hope is October by Eric Whitacre. She played this her sophomore year in college and while playing that piece, she realized how we see God in music, even music that isn’t sacred. God gives us music of different moods to calm our spirit. No matter the emotion that is felt, there is a piece of music to play to sympathize with our felt emotions.
