    Moms for Moms

    Rhetoric Hall - Knights Hall
Grab a friend, leave the kids and spend the morning with other Regents moms both older and younger- who are walking out their parenting journey in the most perfectly imperfect way. We will laugh, learn from, and lean on one other. This year, we are honored to be hosting Parker and Sabrina Stuckey who will share their wisdom on parenting kids in a post Christian culture. Parker leads Young Life for Capital City Young Life, and Sabrina teaches 6th grade - together they share five kids ranging from 2nd to 10th grade. We will also have a tried and true favorite with an alumni panel. We all desire for our kids to know and love Jesus, but as the culture shifts how do we equip them? Coffee and breakfast tacos will be served.

  • Speaker Series: Human Flourishing with Flannery O’Connor

    Grammar Hall Oak Room
Flannery O’Connor once wrote to a friend: “I write to discover what I know.”  We might also say that we read to discover what we know about ourselves and the world around us.  O’Connor was a student of the human condition, but most especially of the modern Southern Christian–in other words, US!  So let’s find out what compelling, convicting, and funny things that O’Connor has to say about us through three of her best short stories. We’ll laugh, ponder, debate, grow in our faith, and fellowship together as we discuss one of America’s most beloved authors. This will be a three part series.

  • Speaker Series: "Sexual Identity: False Identity" Dr. Christopher Yuan

    Grammar Hall Oak Room

As more confusion abounds on sexuality and gender, Dr. Christopher Yuan powerfully articulates that God's truth is crystal clear not gray. Through the narrative of his personal transformation from an agnostic gay man to a Bible professor and through his graduate level education in biblical languages, theology, and even health sciences, Dr. Yuan casts a compelling vision of not embracing our sexuality, but embracing Christ, thus shattering the paradigms of gay and straight and pointing us toward the biblical standard of holy sexuality.

Dr. Yuan is a highly sought-after expert whose book, Holy Sexuality and the Gospel, was named 2020 book of the year for social issues by Outreach Magazine. Christopher will be joined by his mother, Angela, as they minister together testifying to the transformative power of the gospel.
