I was raised as a pastor’s kid, mostly in Billings, Montana, where I had the privilege of attending and graduating from a great private Christian school. After graduation, I spent a year with my parents as missionaries in Guadalajara, Mexico, and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies and Bible, at Eugene Bible College in Eugene, Oregon. I completed one year of the M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies program at Jerusalem University College, in Jerusalem, Israel, where I met the brilliant and beautiful young woman (Tanya) who eventually became my wife and the mother of our two awesome kids (Joshua and Kalani). I completed my graduate studies a few years later at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating in 2003 with a Master of Arts in Missions.
Most recently, my family and I came from a four year stint in Jerusalem, Israel, where I served as the Business Resources Manager and PR Manager of the Anglican International School, Jerusalem, as well as worship leader at Christ Church Anglican in the Old City. My wife and I feel a strong calling to promote peace and reconciliation amongst all the peoples of the Middle East and between people of different races/cultures here in the US.
From my teens, I have felt called to Christian ministry. Not surprisingly, throughout my life, I have been involved in both volunteer and paid ministry in churches, schools and mission teams, especially in the areas of music, worship, drama, teaching, marketing, and administration, both in the US and overseas. I am currently working with a local church here in Austin as I complete the ordination process within the Anglican Church, and am exploring the possibilities of becoming a bi-vocational church planter. As a part of this, I’m delighted to work at Regents, where I know my work helps enable the positive impact that Regents has in so many families’ lives and in our community.
My personal interests and hobbies include cooking, baking, eating good food (especially from around the world), playing piano, singing, listening to beautiful music, reading, hunting, hiking, camping (especially in the northwestern United States) and traveling internationally.
