Life in Logic

The School of Logic is about playful curiosity.  School athletics begin in earnest;  Spirit Fridays allow for some expression beyond standard uniforms; Fine Arts and PE electives cater to different interests and strengths; and our teachers emphasize hands-on learning, both in and out of the classroom.

Athletics

School of Logic sports are part of the CAPPS sports league, our teams host and travel to other private and parochial schools in the Austin area.  Fourteen sports, including team (volleyball, football, cheer, soccer, lacrosse) and lifetime sports  (swimming, tennis, golf), with faithful coaching staff who pursue relationships with the Lord and with students, create an environment where students can grow and thrive.

Homerooms

Each day starts with Homeroom; Homerooms are same gender, mixed grade, and students have the same teacher for 7th and  8th grades. Homerooms serve together on Ministerium days, compete against each other at the Fall Retreat, and have various celebrations throughout the school year.

Fall Retreat

We start each school year with a retreat, designed to build community and connection among our students and with teachers.  Crazy games, funny competitions, and time for rest and refreshment combine  for a great day in the sun.

Recess

Logic students still get recess!  We have a daily break for snack and outside play, and our students love the opportunity to run, to swing, to practice a throw or two, or to sit contentedly in the sun.  Sports equipment is available for checkout and a little movement offers a great break in the academic day.

life in the hallway

With rotating block schedules and elective fine arts and athletics, students for the first time find themselves with different friends in each class period.  Lockers, decorations, and passing periods give opportunity for quick connections throughout each day.

ministerium

In the School of Logic, several school days per year are designated as service days where homerooms serve together. Ministry partners include Community First! Village,  Down Home Ranch, local pregnancy resource centers and food pantries, and yard work for our neighbors.

Class Trips

Each spring, our students go on multi-day class trips.  The 7th graders explore the Texas Gulf Coast, connecting with our Life Science, History, and Bible curricula; while 8th graders explore History and Earth Science with a trip to Enchanted Rock, a military museum, and a WWII-era airplane hanger.
