Sheila Henderson, Assistant Athletic Director

We are pleased to announce that Sheila Henderson has joined the Regents Athletics team as Assistant Athletic Director. Sheila’s primary responsibility will be oversight and advancement of several of our sports programs, helping us to further train and educate our part-time coaches in our mission to redeem sports for Christ.

Sheila joins us most recently from Marlin ISD where she was the District Athletic Director and Assistant Principal. Sheila has also served in Austin ISD, Judson ISD, and Lockhart ISD as a teacher, head coach, assistant coach, assistant principal, and athletic director. She has taught math and coached cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. In addition to serving schools and school districts, Sheila worked directly for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) in various leadership roles. She is also a former collegiate athlete as a part of the University of Texas Women’s Track and Field Program.

Sheila is married to Orlando Henderson and they have two boys, Tyler and Kendall. She enjoys running, reading, fishing, volunteering with her church, and spending time with her family.

Sheila wanted to share:

I am excited about joining the Regents family and the opportunity to join the athletic staff to redeem sports for Christ and to build lasting relationships. I am thankful for the opportunity for God to use me to share my gifts and talents to disciple anyone to grow as a follower of Christ. Matthew 28:9 says, “God calls us to go into the world to make disciples of all nations.”

I love and believe in the mission of Regents School of Austin. I am blessed to be able to walk unapologetically in my faith everyday and hopefully be a light in my new family.

Please join me in welcoming Sheila to the Regents community.
