Ann Taylor is full of thankfulness for the gift of teaching at Regents! As a child, Ann Taylor dreamed of the day she would become like her teachers, who encouraged and loved her well. The Lord’s way of bringing Ann Taylor into the classroom as a teacher has affirmed that His ways and thoughts are far higher than our own. It is truly a joy for Ann Taylor to teach young hearts and minds about the wonders of creation while shepherding them to our loving Creator! Outside of teaching, Ann Taylor enjoys walking, dancing and time with her family and friends!

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Leslie Sherrick teaches fifth grade Latin and just recently moved here from Winter Park, Florida. She previously worked at The Geneva School in Winter Park for 15 years, where she taught in the first, second, and fifth grades. Before that she taught kindergarten in a public school for a year and homeschooled for 15 years while raising her four beautiful daughters. Ms. Sherrick holds a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Florida Southern College.

During summers she loves to read, cook, go to the beach, and just spend time with her family. Her favorite quote is attributed to St.Francis of Assisi: "If God can work through me, he can work through anyone. Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."

The first few years of Janet’s teaching career were spent in public schools in both Lubbock and Amarillo, TX. When each of her four children reached school age, she homeschooled them for the first few years of grammar school. Janet’s family has been a part of the Regents community since her eldest son entered fourth grade in 2000. She joined the Regents faculty as a third grade teacher in 2010, then began teaching fifth grade math in 2017. Janet loves teaching and watching her students grow in knowledge and maturity each year!

Quotes which inspire me: "Do the next thing," by Elisabeth Elliot.
"Keeping baggage from the past will leave no room for happiness in the future," by Wayne L. Misner.

Curling up with an inspiring or entertaining book is Janet’s favorite leisure activity.
Janet loves spending time with family and friends and taking long walks with her dog. Decluttering (her home, her files, emails, etc.) is also a very happy past-time for Janet.
