This begins my 20th year teaching at Regents and my second year in SOR. Since God led me here after being on the mission field in Russia for two years, I have certainly received more from the Regents community than I could ever give. In fact, I joke that in my first year I should have paid the school for all the things I learned about a Christ-centered marriage and raising kids. Though my degrees are in Finance and German, I teach Latin here at Regents. I have taught in all three divisions -- something I consider a unique gift. I loved my experiences with each team and age level.

During this COVID quarantine, my husband and I have discovered how much we really like each other. We have been baking sourdough, brewing kombucha and going for long walks. We are both Longhorns but have a 20 year old son that just finished his freshman year at Westmont in Santa Barbara, CA.

Christine Godwin was born in Chicago but got to Texas as soon as she could. She majored in History and Classical Studies at Texas A&M University. She has studied abroad in Greece and Turkey and was fortunate to once lead a trip for students to Orvieto, Italy where they lived in a 13th century monastery while pondering the question, "What Does Jerusalem Have to Do With Athens?" She and her husband Chris have one son, Cole, who has attended Regents since Kindergarten. Christine is blessed to have taught for many years in the School of Rhetoric and now serves as the SOR Dean of Students where she is daily inspired and energized by her amazing students. Her favorite part of working at Regents is forming long term relationships with students that last past graduation. Christine is a sports fanatic and a perfect day for her is sitting in the sunshine at Wrigley Field, eating a Chicago style hot dog, and watching her beloved Cubs. She also loves to travel and enjoys reading historical fiction.

Roberta grew up in Houston, Texas. She decided to attend the University of Texas in Austin and study mechanical engineering; after graduation, she was fortunate to work in the industry for seven years. First, at Compaq Computer, where she met her husband Dan. Not long after, they moved to Austin where Roberta worked at Dell Computer. At both jobs, she worked on the mechanical design teams designing desktops and laptops. Once Dan and Roberta started having children, she stayed at home to be with their three boys. She began homeschooling them when their oldest turned five years old. Each year they asked the Lord if homeschooling was how they were to be educating their sons. They continued homeschooling through their high school years. Roberta began teaching with One Day Academy (Christian enrichment classes) nine years ago. The last couple of years, she was teaching four days a week with ODA. Roberta taught every level of math from 4th grade to pre-calculus, elementary sciences, engineering classes, and two levels of physics. She discovered over the last few years that her teaching passion is physics. Therefore, she wanted to concentrate on that subject and dive in deeper. At home and in the classroom, Roberta has been blessed to be able to teach subjects she loves and to be able to intertwine it with God in our lives. Roberta looks forward to energizing students about physics and our Lord! There is nothing more satisfying then opening up someone's eyes to new possibilities and ideas!

Not a native Texan, Rose was born in California and raised in New Jersey. Rose double majored in rhetoric and music at the University of California Berkeley where she became a Christian. Rose later pursued an M.A. in biblical studies from New College Berkeley. Rose met her Aggie husband at Berkeley, and they have been married now for over 25 years with 4 kids who have all attended or are attending Regents. Rose has been part of the Regents community since 1997 when her oldest entered Regents as a 1st grader. Rose started teaching at Regents in 2012. Her favorite activities to do when she’s relaxing are reading, playing the piano, hiking, eating and watching movies. She and her husband have served as pre-marital counselors at their church and mentored young newlyweds through small groups. Rose’s passion is discipling young lives to live well, to love courageously and to experience the living God in all they do.

Rose is daily inspired and energized by her students and colleagues as they wrestle and work together to learn and love. A successful day for Rose as a teacher is knowing that her students have engaged, laughed and made connections with what they’ve discussed in class to their lives.

Rose’s secret dream in high school was to become a concert pianist and play in Carnegie Hall.
